FAQ

Your questions answered

How does Lansy Desk record calls without a bot?

It captures audio right on your computer — in Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, a softphone call, or a messenger. No bot ever joins the call, and there is nothing to switch on manually.

Do other participants need to install anything?

No. Desk runs only on your computer — the people you talk to install and confirm nothing.

What does an employee see — and what does a manager see?

Employees see only their own profile: strengths, growth areas and the focus of the week. The manager gets a team-wide dashboard — without listening to anyone else’s recordings.

Can I make a meeting private?

Yes, with one button in the notch: recording stops and the meeting stays out of the recap and your profile.

Can I ask about my meetings in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Connect Lansy Desk to Claude, ChatGPT, or Claude Code, and the assistant answers with a quote and a link to the meeting. Setup takes a minute: see the step-by-step guide.

Where are recordings stored, and can I delete them?

Files land in a folder on your computer first. Any recording can be stopped or deleted — together with its recap.

Is this secure and legal?

Yes. Personal data is anonymised, conversations are encrypted, in full compliance with the UAE PDPL. Let participants know before recording — the law requires it.

Does this replace regular performance reviews?

Yes. The skill profile builds itself from real calls — no more collecting review scores by hand every six months.

How is Desk related to the Lansy platform?

Desk is part of the Lansy platform: the same conversation-analysis models that work for our customers in stores and clinics review your meetings here.

What happens if the internet drops?

Recording continues — audio is captured locally. The recap appears once the connection is back.

Does Lansy Desk write meeting minutes?

Yes. Every call ends with meeting minutes: the decisions, the tasks with owners, and the deadlines. The notetaker runs on your computer, so the minutes are ready a couple of minutes after you hang up.

Which permissions does it need on a Mac?

Microphone and system-audio recording — macOS will ask for both on first launch. The app needs macOS 14.2 Sonoma or newer.
