Install Lansy on macOS
Lansy has a desktop app for macOS and Windows. This guide covers macOS. The app sits in your menu bar, notices when a meeting starts and records both sides of the conversation — your voice and everyone else’s. You don’t have to press anything.
1. Download the app
Download the Lansy installer for macOS.
2. Install the app
Open the .dmg file and drag Lansy into your Applications folder. If macOS says it can’t verify the developer, right-click the app, choose Open and confirm. You only need to do this the first time.
3. Allow microphone and system audio
The first time you open Lansy, it asks for your microphone and for system audio. Recording won’t work without both, so choose Allow at each prompt.
4. Choose where recordings are saved
Pick a folder, or keep the default.
5. Sign in
Sign in through your browser — this links the app to your organization.
How to use it
From here on, everything happens on its own.
Automatic mode
Start your meeting as usual. Lansy begins recording on its own and stops when the call ends.
Menu bar controls
Use the Lansy icon in the menu bar to start or stop a recording by hand, open the latest one, open the folder, or quit.
Closing the window is fine
The app minimizes to the menu bar and keeps watching for meetings in the background.
Any app
Lansy watches Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser, the Zoom, Teams, Webex and Lark / Feishu desktop apps, and Slack Huddles. Anything you switch off under Meeting detection, Lansy leaves alone.
