What really differs
A notetaker bot in a client call makes many people wary, and some companies ban it outright. Lansy records audio on your computer, so nothing changes for the other side.
Every participant gets their own agreements and tasks with an owner and a deadline. Nobody has to forward the minutes and hunt for their part.
Meetings are scored against your competency matrix. Each employee builds a skill profile; the manager gets a team view without listening to recordings.
Questions about Fireflies
Can Fireflies record without a bot?
Yes, in its Mac and Windows desktop app. But it's not the default: normally the Fireflies Notetaker joins the call, and in bot-free mode speakers show as “Speaker 1 / Speaker 2” and no audio is saved. Lansy Desk never uses a bot.
Can Fireflies score my team's skills?
On Business and above, admins get descriptive analytics — talk-to-listen ratio, questions, monologues, sentiment — and AI Skills can produce per-meeting scorecards. It doesn't keep a per-employee skill profile against your company's competency matrix. Lansy Desk does.
Where does Fireflies store data?
In the US, on AWS and GCP. EU storage is available only with Enterprise Private Storage, and processing still happens in the US. Lansy Desk saves files on your computer first and complies with the UAE PDPL.
Does Fireflies support Arabic?
Yes — Fireflies transcribes and summarises in 100+ languages, Arabic included. If Arabic-language meetings are your main use case, that's a genuine Fireflies strength.
