Lansy Desk Terms
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1. About these Terms
1.1 These Lansy Desk Terms (the "Terms") govern your use of Lansy Desk, an application for recording, transcribing and summarising meetings and calls, available through the Lansy website and the Lansy desktop and mobile applications ("Lansy Desk"). Lansy Desk is provided by COLLABO TECH LTD, a company registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre under licence number CL12226, with its registered office at Unit IH-00-01-03-OF-05, Level 3, IH-00-01CP-05, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Lansy", the "Company", "we", "us" or "our"). Lansy is the owner of all rights in Lansy Desk.
1.2 These Terms are a public offer. You accept them, and enter into a contract with Lansy, when you create an account, click to accept them, or download, install or use Lansy Desk, whichever happens first. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Lansy Desk.
1.3 You may use Lansy Desk for yourself (as a "Consumer") or for a business or organisation (as a "Business User"). If you use Lansy Desk for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" includes that organisation.
1.4 You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the law of the country where you live.
1.5 How we process personal data, including payment data, is described in the Lansy Desk Privacy Policy at https://lansy.ai/desk/privacy and in our Cookie Policy at https://lansy.ai/legal/cookies.
1.6 The Lansy Terms of Service at https://lansy.ai/terms do not apply to Lansy Desk, unless a written agreement between Lansy and an organisation expressly includes Lansy Desk in the services provided under them.
2. Definitions
2.1 In these Terms:
"Account" means your Lansy Desk account.
"App Store" means each of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
"Content" means recordings, uploaded files, notes and other material that you record, upload or create in Lansy Desk.
"Free Plan" means the version of Lansy Desk available without payment, with the usage limits shown in the app.
"Output" means transcripts, speaker labels, summaries, action items and other results generated by Lansy Desk from your Content.
"Paid Plan" means a paid subscription to Lansy Desk.
"Participant" means any person, other than you, whose voice or words are included in your Content.
"Subscription Period" means the period, such as a month or a year, for which a Paid Plan is paid in advance.
3. Lansy Desk
3.1 Lansy Desk lets you record or upload meetings and calls, turns speech into text, separates the speakers and uses AI to prepare summaries and other Output. The features available depend on your plan and your device and are described in the app.
3.2 We may change, add or remove features, introduce new plans and stop offering features or plans. Features marked as beta or preview are provided for testing, may be changed or withdrawn at any time and may not work as expected.
3.3 We aim to keep Lansy Desk available, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times or free from errors.
4. Availability worldwide and storage of data
4.1 Lansy Desk is offered internationally through a single service. We do not operate separate versions or separate data storage for different countries.
4.2 Your Account data, Content and Output are stored in the United Arab Emirates and processed by Lansy and the service providers listed at https://lansy.ai/subprocessors. By using Lansy Desk you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United Arab Emirates, and in the other countries shown on that page, wherever you are located.
4.3 We may restrict or refuse the availability of Lansy Desk, or of particular features, plans or payment methods, in any country, including where needed to comply with law, sanctions or the rules of an App Store. You must not use Lansy Desk from, or on behalf of persons located in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions or embargoes under the laws that apply to Lansy, or if you are a person with whom Lansy is prohibited from dealing under those laws.
4.4 You are responsible for making sure that your use of Lansy Desk is lawful where you are and where your Participants are, including under laws on recording conversations.
5. Your Account
5.1 You must give accurate information when you create your Account and keep it up to date. An Account is for one person. You must keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us without delay at info@lansy.ai if you believe that someone else has accessed your Account. You are responsible for activity in your Account.
5.2 If an organisation provides your Account or pays for it, that organisation may manage your Account, access the Content stored in it and close it, as set out in its arrangements with you.
6. Recording other people
6.1 Before you record or upload a conversation that includes Participants, you must tell them that it is being recorded and processed with AI, and obtain their consent where the law requires it. In some countries and regions, the consent of everyone in the conversation is required. Lansy Desk reminds you to do this, but you are responsible for it.
6.2 You must not record anyone covertly where that is unlawful, record conversations you are not entitled to record, or record people who are not able to give valid consent where consent is required, without the consent of a person entitled to give it for them.
6.3 You are responsible for any sensitive information, such as health information, that you choose to record or upload, and for having a lawful basis for doing so.
6.4 If a Participant contacts us about a recording in your Account, we may ask you to deal with their request and may, where the law requires it, act on it ourselves.
7. Acceptable use
7.1 You must not use Lansy Desk to break the law or infringe the rights of others; to harass, threaten, monitor or track another person without a lawful basis; to upload malicious code or material you have no right to use; to interfere with or overload Lansy Desk or bypass its usage limits or security measures; to copy, decompile or reverse engineer Lansy Desk, except to the extent that the law expressly allows it; to resell or provide Lansy Desk to others; or to develop a competing product.
8. Your Content and Output
8.1 You keep all rights in your Content. As between you and Lansy, Output belongs to you.
8.2 You grant Lansy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transcribe, analyse and otherwise process your Content and Output only as needed to provide Lansy Desk to you, to keep it secure and to comply with the law. This licence ends when your Content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a limited period or where the law requires us to keep them.
8.3 We do not use your Content or Output to train AI models, we do not sell them and we do not use them for advertising.
8.4 You confirm that you have the rights and consents needed for us to process your Content under these Terms.
9. AI and Output
9.1 Output is generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate, including names, numbers and attributions of speakers. Check Output before you rely on it. Output is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
9.2 Some analysis of text is carried out by AI models of third-party providers. They receive the text of your conversations, which does not contain data that such models could treat as personal data, and your questions to the in-app assistant, process them only to return the result to us, and are used only under terms and settings that do not permit them to use the text to train their models or to keep it longer than needed. No audio and no voice characteristics are sent to them.
10. Connecting AI assistants
10.1 You may, on your own initiative, connect an external AI assistant, such as Claude by Anthropic or ChatGPT by OpenAI, to your meetings in Lansy Desk through our MCP connector. Access is granted only after you confirm it on the consent screen, is read-only within your own permissions, can be revoked at any time and is free of charge.
10.2 Before data is sent to the assistant, the names and contact details of Participants who are guests are replaced with placeholders. The provider of the assistant is chosen by you, processes the data under its own terms and is not Lansy's sub-processor. Lansy is not responsible for that provider's processing. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for sending the data, including any consent of Participants that the law requires.
11. Plans, prices and payment
11.1 Free Plan. The Free Plan is free of charge and subject to the usage limits shown in the app, which we may change.
11.2 Paid Plans. The features, price, currency, Subscription Period and any applicable taxes of each Paid Plan are shown before you buy it. By buying a Paid Plan you authorise us, or the App Store, to charge the price to your chosen payment method.
11.3 How you pay. If you buy a Paid Plan on our website or in our desktop application, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. If you buy it in a mobile application, payment is processed by the App Store under its own terms, and the App Store's rules on billing, cancellation and refunds apply to that purchase.
11.4 Automatic renewal. A Paid Plan renews automatically at the end of each Subscription Period for the same period, and the price applicable at renewal is charged, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your Account settings or, for purchases through an App Store, in your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Subscription Period; your Paid Plan remains active until then and you are not charged again.
11.5 Free trials. If a Paid Plan starts with a free trial, we show you the length of the trial, the date when it ends and the price that will be charged. The trial converts into a Paid Plan when it ends unless you cancel before then.
11.6 Price changes. We may change the prices of Paid Plans. A new price applies to your Paid Plan only from the start of your next Subscription Period. We tell you about an increase in the price of your Paid Plan by email or in the app before it applies, so that you can cancel before you are charged.
11.7 Failed payments. If we cannot collect a payment, we may retry it and may move your Account to the Free Plan until payment is made.
11.8 Taxes. Prices include or exclude value added tax and other taxes as shown at purchase. Where taxes are excluded, they are added at checkout.
11.9 Refunds. Payments are non-refundable except as stated in these Terms, as required by law or as decided by the App Store for purchases made through it. You can ask for a refund at info@lansy.ai. We refund charges made in error. Where the law of your country gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase within a certain period, that right applies; if you ask for your Paid Plan to start immediately, you may lose or reduce that right to the extent that the law allows once the service has been provided.
11.10 Promotions. Promotional codes, discounts and referral rewards, such as a free month for inviting a colleague, apply only as described when they are offered, cannot be exchanged for cash and may end at any time.
12. Privacy
12.1 Where you use Lansy Desk for yourself, Lansy is the controller of your personal data and of the personal data of Participants in your Content, and processes it as described in the Lansy Desk Privacy Policy. Where you use Lansy Desk through an Account provided by an organisation, that organisation is the controller of the Content and Lansy processes it on the organisation's behalf.
12.2 Audio is kept for the period shown in the app settings and by default for 30 days. Transcripts and summaries are kept until you delete them or close your Account. After you close your Account, your data is deleted within 30 days, except billing records, which we keep for the period required by accounting and tax law.
13. Lansy's rights
13.1 Lansy owns all rights in Lansy Desk, including its software, models, design and trade marks. Nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you.
13.2 Subject to these Terms, Lansy grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Lansy Desk applications on devices that you own or control, and to use Lansy Desk, for as long as you have an Account.
13.3 If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
14. App Stores
14.1 If you download a Lansy Desk application from an App Store, the following also applies. These Terms are between you and Lansy only, not the App Store, and Lansy, not the App Store, is responsible for the application and its content. The App Store has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the application. If the application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify the App Store, which may refund the purchase price of the application, if any; to the fullest extent permitted by law, the App Store has no other warranty obligation. Lansy, not the App Store, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the application, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims and claims that it infringes the intellectual property rights of others. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with the terms of any third party, such as your network operator, when using the application. Apple and its subsidiaries, and Google, are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you.
15. Suspension and termination
15.1 You can stop using Lansy Desk and delete your Account at any time in the app or by writing to info@lansy.ai. If you have a Paid Plan, cancel it first; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription purchased through an App Store.
15.2 We may suspend or close your Account, or restrict your use of Lansy Desk, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe that your use may harm others or Lansy or breach the law, or if a competent authority requires it. Where reasonable, we tell you first and give you an opportunity to fix the problem.
15.3 We may stop offering Lansy Desk. If we do, we tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund any prepaid amount for the unused part of your Subscription Period.
15.4 When your Account is closed, your right to use Lansy Desk ends and your data is deleted as described in section 12.2. Download any Content and Output you want to keep before closing your Account.
16. Disclaimers
16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lansy Desk and Output are provided "as is" and "as available", and Lansy gives no warranties or conditions, express or implied, including as to fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of Output.
16.2 If you are a Consumer, nothing in these Terms limits the rights that you have under the consumer protection law of the country where you live and that cannot be excluded by contract.
17. Liability
17.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
17.2 Lansy is not liable for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
17.3 Lansy's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms in any period of 12 months is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid to Lansy for Lansy Desk in that period and USD 100.
17.4 Sections 17.2 and 17.3 apply to Consumers only to the extent permitted by the law of the country where they live.
18. Indemnity
18.1 If you are a Business User, you indemnify Lansy against all claims, losses, fines and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your Content, your breach of sections 6 or 7, or a claim by a Participant relating to your recording. If you are a Consumer, you are responsible for such claims to the extent that the law of the country where you live allows.
19. Third-party services
19.1 Lansy Desk may let you use or connect third-party services, such as calendars, conferencing tools and AI assistants. Those services are provided by third parties under their own terms, and Lansy is not responsible for them.
20. Changes to these Terms and to Lansy Desk
20.1 We may update these Terms at any time by publishing a new version at https://lansy.ai/desk/terms. The new version takes effect on the date stated in it or, if no date is stated, on publication. You are responsible for reviewing these Terms regularly. Your continued use of Lansy Desk after a change takes effect means that you accept the new version.
20.2 If you have an active Paid Plan, a change that materially reduces the features of your Paid Plan or is otherwise materially to your disadvantage applies to you from the start of your next Subscription Period, and you can avoid it by cancelling before then. Price changes are governed by section 11.6.
21. Governing law and disputes
21.1 These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
21.2 Please contact us first at info@lansy.ai so that we can try to resolve any complaint informally. Any dispute that is not resolved is subject to the jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts.
21.3 If you are a Consumer, the choice of law in section 21.1 does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country where its law gives you that right.
22. General
22.1 These Terms, together with the documents referred to in them, are the entire agreement between you and Lansy about Lansy Desk.
22.2 You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to an affiliate or to a successor to our business, provided that this does not reduce your rights.
22.3 We may send you notices by email to the address in your Account or in the app. You can send notices to info@lansy.ai.
22.4 Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
22.5 If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure or delay in exercising a right is not a waiver of it.
22.6 These Terms are written in English. A translation is for convenience only and the English text prevails, unless the law of the country where you live requires otherwise.
